Uchenna Joseph Okolo led a team of Council officials on an inspection visit to Amoli Cottage Hospital. The hospital, attracted by the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), provides critical healthcare services to the people of Amoli and surrounding communities.
During the visit, Hon. Okolo engaged with hospital management and staff to assess the level of healthcare services, identify challenges, and explore ways to improve medical infrastructure, personnel capacity, and service delivery. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare system in Awgu, ensuring residents have access to affordable, efficient, and high-quality medical services.
Hon. Okolo commended the people of Amoli for their support in sustaining the hospital since its inception. He assured that necessary interventions would be put in place to enhance operations, upgrade medical equipment, and improve working conditions for healthcare professionals.
The Chairman emphasized that his administration aligns with Governor Peter Mbah’s vision of a reformed and efficient healthcare sector in Enugu State, with health remaining a top priority in his governance agenda. The Amoli community, led by President General Deacon Anukenyi Okonkwo, thanked Hon. Okolo for his commitment to community development and his resolve to intervene in the health facility.
The visit underscores the Awgu LG government’s dedication to ensuring accessible and improved healthcare services, reinforcing the belief that a healthy population is the foundation for sustainable development.
