…Set to Flag Off Health Insurance Scheme for Elderly in the Council Area
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Enugu East Local Government has signed a pre-contract agreement with the Enugu State Agency for Universal Health Coverage (ESAUHC) to launch a health insurance scheme for elderly residents. The scheme, designed for individuals aged 60 and above, will provide comprehensive healthcare services without requiring out-of-pocket expenses.
The agreement, signed on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, ensures that both indigenes and non-indigenes of Enugu East LGA will receive healthcare services under the State Government’s Universal Health Coverage, fully funded by the Enugu East Local Government.
Community leaders, party leaders, and a delegation from ESAUHC attended the event, which served as an opportunity to sensitize community leaders on the program’s importance and enrollment process. They were encouraged to share the news with their communities and ensure that eligible individuals are aware of the benefits and enrollment procedures.
Enrollment for the health insurance scheme commences today, Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Enugu State Type Two PHC Center, Emene Nike.
