The youths expressed embarrassment over Wike’s insult against the late Chief Edwin Clark, a former Federal Commissioner for Information and South-South leader, even in death.

Doben Donyegha, National President of the PANDEF youth wing, addressed journalists on Saturday, stating that Wike’s abuse of South-South leaders less than 24 hours after their delegation met with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa was annoying.

Wike had described PANDEF as “the worst organisation anybody can rely on” and called its board of trustee members “political merchants” during a media chat on Thursday.

Donyegha urged President Tinubu to sack Wike from his cabinet, stating that the youth wing no longer had confidence in him. He warned that keeping Wike in the cabinet may affect the president’s re-election chances in the Niger Delta in 2027.

Furthermore, the PANDEF youths’ president asked the Code of Conduct Bureau to investigate Wike over alleged land-grabbing activities in the FCT.
