Barrister Lloyd Ikechukwu Ekweremadu, the Enugu State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, the event aims to showcase the rich culture and resilience of the Coal City. The marathon will take runners through a carefully mapped-out 42.195km course, highlighting iconic landmarks such as Coal Camp Road, Independence Avenue, and Zik Avenue.
Commissioner Ekweremadu emphasized that the event will not only promote sports development in Enugu State but also showcase the state’s hospitality and rich cultural heritage. With its carefully planned course and world-class certification, this event is poised to put Enugu State on the global athletics map.
