The PDP, Nigeria’s main opposition party, controls 12 out of the country’s 36 states and has condemned the presidency’s actions. Today’s meeting is expected to address key developments, including the emergency rule in Rivers State. Retired Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has been appointed as the state’s sole administrator.

Fubara’s attendance at the meeting, despite his suspension, underscores the significance of this gathering. The outcome of this meeting will be closely watched, as it may shape the future of Rivers State and the PDP’s stance on the presidency’s actions.
