The Enugu State Government has announced a revised verification schedule for the ongoing Gratuity Verification Exercise, which commenced on February 24, 2025. The exercise aims to ensure that only eligible beneficiaries receive their gratuity payments and entitlements while preventing errors and undue delays.

The exercise will be conducted across the 17 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Enugu State, with the following revised schedule:
- Nkanu West: March 28 and April 2
- Oji River: April 3-4
- Udenu: April 7-8
- Udi: April 10-11
- Uzouwani: April 14-15
- Nsukka: April 16-17 and 22-23
- Enugu East: April 24-30
- Enugu North: May 2-8
- Enugu South: May 9-15
- Mop-Up/Diaspora: May 16-22
Eligibility and Required Documents
The verification exercise is open to:
- Retirees who are yet to receive their gratuity payments
- Next of Kin of deceased retirees who are eligible for gratuity or related entitlements
Participants are required to present the following documents:
- Notice of Retirement
- Pension Identification Card
- Pension Form and Pension Authority
- Bank Verification Number (BVN)
- National Identification Number (NIN)
- Recent Passport Photographs
- Bank Statement of Account
- Death Certificate (for Next of Kin)
- Letter of Administration or Affidavit (for Next of Kin)
- Other relevant supporting documents
Instructions for Pensioners Abroad or Hospitalized
Retirees who are unable to attend the verification exercise in person can authorize a representative to act on their behalf. They must provide:
- Authorization Letter
- Required documents submitted to the verification team and emailed to verifygratuity@gmail.com
Verification Venues and Important Notes
The exercise will take place at designated centers across the state, with verification starting at 8:00 am daily. Diaspora and hospitalized retirees will undergo virtual verification from 9:00 am daily.
All participants must attend the verification exercise at their respective Local Government Area of residence, bringing original documents and photocopies for submission. Retirees who have already received their full entitlements are not required to participate.
