The Enugu State Government wishes to assure the youths of our dear state and the general public that it remains firmly in control of the prevailing security situation across the state. We are fully aware of the recent security challenges, particularly along the Ugwogo Nike–Opi axis of the Enugu–Nsukka Road, as well as incidents in Uzo-Uwani, Eha-Amufu, and other areas experiencing pockets of insecurity.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! While security operations often require a level of confidentiality that does not lend itself to public disclosure, rest assured that the government is confronting these issues head-on with strategic precision. It is important to understand that the sensitive nature of security matters means the State cannot always divulge operational details. However, visible signs of government action are already evident.
For instance, the Distress Response Squad (DRS) patrol vehicles have been strategically deployed across key flashpoints, especially along the Ugwogo–Opi corridor. These units are actively monitoring and responding to threats, leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that those found culpable of criminal activity are swiftly brought to justice.
The government remains relentless in its resolve to combat insecurity until peace, safety, and the glorious tranquility Enugu State is known for are fully restored. We also encourage the active participation of the public in this collective effort.
Citizens with valuable information or suggestions that could support ongoing security operations are urged to reach out to the appropriate authorities or the government directly. Additionally, anyone who witnesses suspicious activities, or has intel on potential threats, should not hesitate to contact the Distress Response Squad (DRS) using the numbers displayed on their patrol vehicles.
Furthermore, any instances of police misconduct, intimidation, or extortion should be promptly reported to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for proper investigation and necessary disciplinary action.
Security is a shared responsibility, and with your cooperation, Enugu State will continue to thrive in peace, unity, and progress.
