During the visit, the team inspected the nearly completed health centre in Ngwoasa. The facility is expected to significantly improve healthcare delivery in the area once completed. The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the level of work done and encouraged the contractors to maintain the momentum until the project is fully delivered.

The team also visited multiple smart school construction sites across different wards, including Christ High School Abor, Community Primary School Nkwo Obodo Ngwo Uno, Community High School Obioma, Hill Top Primary School Ngwo, as well as the Umuase Imeama Ngwo and Nsude projects. The Commissioner stated that, once operational, these smart schools will greatly enhance the quality of education by equipping children with modern and innovative learning skills such as artificial intelligence (AI), critical thinking, and problem-solving methods—ultimately raising smart children ready to take on the world.

Chief Barr. Chris-Roberts Ozongwu used the opportunity to commend the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his visionary leadership and the transformative development taking place across the state. He described the Governor’s efforts as impactful and people-oriented, especially in the areas of education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and transport.

The inspection exercise reflects the state government’s continued commitment to delivering quality projects that directly benefit its citizens and promote sustainable development across all sectors.

The Department of Monitoring and Evaluation will continue to track the progress of these and other government projects across Enugu State. Further inspections and evaluations will be conducted as necessary to ensure effective implementation and the achievement of desired outcomes. The Commissioner also called on the general public to take ownership of the projects being undertaken in their neighbourhoods and monitor them, as this is a way of ensuring that their taxes are well utilised. He urged citizens to help prevent being shortchanged by contractors who are paid to deliver quality work that will stand the test of time.
