CLEAN-UP ALERT: ENUGU RESIDENTS URGED TO PARTICIPATE IN APRIL SANITATION EXERCISE

The Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA) has announced that the April clean-up exercise will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00am.

In a statement signed by Andreas Gebauer, Special Assistant to the Governor on Water and Waste Management, the authority has issued guidelines to ensure a smooth and effective exercise.

According to the guidelines, movement of people and vehicles will be prohibited during the exercise, except for those on essential services who must provide valid means of identification or ESWAMA’s official pass.

Residents are expected to clean their surroundings, including compounds and drainages, and evacuate waste properly. The ESWAMA Enforcement Team will be monitoring compliance during the exercise.

In addition, residents are reminded to pay their ESWAMA sanitation rates to the e-ticketing agents in charge of their areas to avoid penalties. For enquiries, residents can contact ESWAMA on 08135534440.

The authority emphasizes that the clean-up exercise is a collective effort towards achieving a cleaner and healthier environment, and urges all residents to participate actively.
