
The Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB) has issued a directive to all Education Secretaries and Head teachers in the state to compile a list of verified and approved teachers in their respective schools with their subject specialty and verification status for administrative purposes .

Prof. Hyginus Banko Okibe, Executive Chairman of ENSUBEB, the board stated that the information is required for administrative purposes and to enable it collate and analyze the requisite data of each practicing teacher for proper identification and representation in the categorization of questions being assembled for the forthcoming Competence Test/Exam.
The memo reads:
“GREETINGS TO ALL TEACHERS, EDUCATORS, STAKEHOLDERS AND PUPILS
As schools reopen on Monday, 5th May 2025, for the 3rd term of 2024/2025 academic session, I wish all our teachers, educators, stakeholders and pupils a pleasant new academic term. This term is loaded with activities and expectations and my prayer is that we shall continue to be protected and promoted in every aspect of our career path – Amen!
“This is to inform the aforementioned that from Monday 5th May 2025, ENSUBEB will begin the process of compiling the list of verified and approved teachers in all our public primary schools in Enugu state with their subject specialty and verification status for administrative purposes. This information will enable ENSUBEB to collate and analyze the requisite data of each practicing teacher for proper identification and representation in the categorization of questions being assembled for the forthcoming Competence Test/Exam that will be subject-case-sensitive.
“It is important to reiterate that the digital literacy, numeracy, and subject specialty competence tests for pre-qualifications to teach in Smart School will start on Saturday, 7th June 2025, and end on Saturday, 5th July 2025. The timetable will be developed in batches and circulated for teacher’s inspection and understanding in no distant time.
“I encourage all teachers intending to participate in the digital literacy and numeracy proficiency and subject knowledge test/exam to engage in further private computer training and practices, including intensive study of the subject area to demonstrate professional skills.
“In consonance, each of the 68 Education Secretaries in liaison with the Headteachers is mandated to generate the list and submit the collated softcopy to the Office of the Executive Chairman (Whats andApp: 08036703633; onwaidodo@gmail.com) and Desk Officer EMIS, (WhatsApp: 0806 893 8707; obettalinusokafor@gmail.com) respectively, on or before the close of work on Wednesday, 7th May 2025.
“The information needed includes:
- Name and location of School under each Edu. Sec. (by LGEAs)
- Names of Teachers (same as above)
- Verification Code or Numbers (for each teacher).
- Verification Status – verified/approved or not with reasons (if verified but not yet approved).
- Subject Specialty of each teacher, what the person studied in school, whether as a Single Honor or Combined (very important for all the qualifying courses).
“This information will be presented in a table format using Microsoft Word or Excel Spreadsheet without converting it into PDF.
“Please, treat it with the urgency and seriousness it deserves.”
