
The Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area and Secretary of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Enugu Chapter, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Sydney Okechukwu Edeh, Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Area and ALGON Chairman Enugu State Chapter on his conferment with the prestigious chieftaincy title of “AKỌBỤNDỤ” by His Royal Majesty Barr. Julius Nnaji, the Ode zuruigbo III of Nike Kingdom, on April 3, 2025.

The ceremony took place as part of the grand celebration commemorating the 25th anniversary of Igwe Nnaji’s reign.

In a congratulatory message, Hon. Okolo praised Hon. Edeh’s unwavering dedication and visionary leadership, highlighting the remarkable developments he has spearheaded in the Nkanu East Local Government Area. “He’s a great leader and a true friend and ally,” Okolo remarked, emphasizing that the chieftaincy title is a well-deserved recognition of Edeh’s contributions to the community. “We’re all proud of you.”

Hon. Okolo further noted that the title bestowed upon Hon. Edeh serves as a testament to his commitment to grassroots development and good governance, which has earned him admiration from both his peers and the people of Enugu State.
