In a significant demonstration of commitment to infrastructural development, the Member of the House of Representatives for Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency of Enugu State, Hon. Engr Anayo Onwuegbu FNSE, Chairman House Committee on Lake Chad, inspected the ongoing Uhuagu-Orie Awgu Road construction project in Awgu Local Government Area on May 9, 2025.

It is noteworthy that this critical infrastructure project was attracted to the constituency through the tireless efforts of the Honourable Member, who has consistently demonstrated his dedication to improving the lives of his constituents.
During the inspection, Hon. Onwuegbu was accompanied by a delegation of notable dignitaries, including Hon Boniface Uchendu, Special Assistant on Special Duties; Hon. Nnaemeka Umerah, former Secretary of Oji River Local Government Area; Hon. Friday Okolie, former Special Assistant to Governor Ugwuanyi; and Chief Gilbert Destiny Onuoha, CEO of Blessed Destiny Oil and Gas Ltd.
The inspection provides an opportunity for the lawmaker to assess the project’s progress and ensure that works are executed to the highest standards.
As the project nears completion, the people of Awgu Local Government Area and the entire constituency are eagerly anticipating the benefits that this road will bring, including improved access to markets, healthcare, and education.
