In a resounding display of unity and support, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Awgu Local Government Area recently celebrated the impressive achievements of Governor Peter Mbah. The party faithful gathered for their monthly meeting, filling the venue with vibrant songs and dance as they expressed their unwavering support for the governor’s vision for Enugu State.

The meeting, which commenced with an opening prayer led by Stephen Nweke, was marked by the traditional breaking of kola nut, symbolizing unity and hospitality. This symbolic gesture was performed by Rt. Hon. Alex Ogbonnia, setting the tone for a meeting that would underscore the party’s commitment to Governor Mbah’s leadership.
In his welcome address, Hon. Kenechukwu Okolo, Chairman of PDP Awgu Local Government, expressed gratitude to the party members and stakeholders for their unwavering support. He acknowledged the contributions of the council chairman and the state PDP chairman, Dr. Martin Chukwunweike, along with other notable stakeholders from Awgu.
The PDP Zonal Youth Leader, Ozo Ejike Ilo, commended the enthusiastic turnout of Awgu PDP supporters, comending the local council’s leadership for its commendable performance. He urged others to emulate their example, highlighting the importance of unity and collective effort in achieving development goals.
In a heartfelt address, Hon. Uche Okolo, Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government, expressed deep appreciation for Governor Mbah’s exemplary leadership. He noted that the governor has exceeded expectations in infrastructural development, which he described as “second to none.” Okolo emphasized the community’s eagerness to support Mbah in future elections, stating, “Awgu is happy with what Mbah is doing and has vowed to support him come rain, come shine.”
The meeting was attended by several notable stakeholders, including Hon. Okwudili Nwankwo, member of the Enugu State House of Assembly; Hon. Anthony Nwankwo, Dr. Stanley Ezediuto, Deputy Chairman of Awgu LGA; Rt. Hon. Nelson Uduji, Secretary General of Awgu LGA; and Hon. Rose Udeh, Speaker of the Awgu LGA Legislative Council.
Other attendees included Hon. Raphy Onovo, SSA to Senator Osita Ngwu; Hon. Emeka Udeh, SSA to Governor Mbah on Youth Mobilization; and various supervisory councilors, local government appointees, and PDP ward chairmen.
The gathering underscored the unity and commitment of the PDP in Awgu Local Government Area as they rally behind Governor Mbah’s vision for continued development in Enugu State.
As Hon. Uche Okolo aptly put it, “Mbah’s achievements are attracting supporters from across the state,” and it is clear that the governor’s leadership has earned the admiration and support of the people of Awgu.
