In the 2023 general election, the search for a governor seemed aimless, with multiple interests, electric political tempo, and intense horse trading. However, reason prevailed, and Governor Peter Mbah was crowned the leader of Enugu State.
As Governor Mbah marks his two-year anniversary in office, the people of Enugu State will join him to celebrate his ingenious solutions to lingering challenges such as insecurity, epileptic power sector, youth unemployment, and decaying infrastructure.
One of the governor’s outstanding milestones is the revival of the power sector, which has enabled economic activity and investment. Today, clusters of businesses are thriving in the state, creating job opportunities at an all-time high. Enugu Air is recruiting, the Enugu State Transport Terminals has engaged hundreds of youth, Niger Gas Company at Emene has advertised for employment, and several cooperatives, including the famous Presidential Hotel, will soon call for operational staff.
Opinion is unanimous that Governor Mbah is charting a new course for Enugu State, giving faith to the sceptic, hope to the disillusioned, and showing that tenacity is omnipotent in statecraft. Many have come to agree with Prof. Ngwu of the Mass Communication Department of Enugu State University, who once said, “Peter Mbah is the fix needed in Enugu State.”
Congratulations to Governor Mbah on his two-year anniversary! May his leadership continue to inspire positive change and drive Enugu State towards greatness.
