This recognition is a testament to the collective efforts of the vibrant communities in Awgu and their shared commitment to transformative development.

The award is not just a personal achievement for Hon. Okolo, but a reflection of the community’s dedication to progress and development. During his tenure, Hon. Okolo has launched several initiatives aimed at improving the lives of residents, including the groundbreaking “Water for All” initiative, which has successfully introduced solar-powered boreholes, ensuring that clean drinking water is accessible to every family.
Additionally, the installation of solar street lights has enhanced safety and security, allowing local businesses to thrive. The Awgu Smart Farm project has also empowered local farmers with sustainable practices and the tools they need to succeed in an ever-evolving market. Furthermore, the LGA has established vocational training programs to equip youth with essential skills for economic independence, while prioritizing transparency and good governance.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Okolo expressed heartfelt gratitude to Governor Peter Mbah for creating an enabling environment for their work and to all the residents of Awgu for their unwavering support. “This award truly belongs to the people of Awgu,” he said. “Together, we are building a legacy of empowerment, resilience, and hope.”
The Awgu LGA Chairman emphasized that leadership is not just a title, but a responsibility to uplift and inspire those around us. “This Award of Excellence is a beacon of what we can achieve together as a community,” he said. “Agwu is on a transformative path, where every voice is heard, and every dream has the potential to flourish.”
