ENUGU STATE FARM ESTATE PROGRAM ENGAGES IN FARMER SENSITIZATION AND PROFILING INITIATIVE TO ENHANCE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVITY

In a bid to boost Agricultural promote sustainable farming practices, the Enugu State Farm Estate Program is engaging in a comprehensive farmer sensitization and profiling exercise to boost agricultural productivity and promote sustainable farming practices. This initiative aims to create a database of eligible farmers residing in various villages across the state, ensuring traceability, sustainability, community support, job creation, and knowledge transfer.

A team comprising the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Deputy Director Agriculture, and State Program Coordinator (SPC) on Fadama Program, recently visited Akpawfu and Isienu Amagunze in Nkanu East Local Government Area to engage with farmers and commence the profiling process.

The exercise will identify and empower farmers to participate in the Farm Estates Program, contributing to the growth and development of the agricultural sector.

Simultaneously, facilitators from the Fadama office of NG CARES are conducting similar profiling and database updates in all 17 Local Government Areas across the state. This widespread effort ensures a comprehensive and inclusive approach to identifying and supporting eligible farmers.

The profiling initiative enables the state government to provide targeted support to farmers, enhance productivity, and promote sustainable agricultural practices. By creating a database of eligible farmers, the government can tailor interventions to meet specific needs, improving rural communities’ lives and contributing to the state’s economic growth.
