BREAKING: Prominent Nigerian Business Mogul passes on

Prominent Kano-born billionaire and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has passed away at the age of 93.

According to family sources, the renowned business magnate died in the early hours of Saturday after a prolonged illness associated with old age.

Burial arrangements are expected to take place later today (Saturday) in accordance with Islamic rites.

Born on May 19, 1931, Dantata was a towering figure in Nigeria’s business landscape, with vast investments in finance, real estate, and the petroleum sectors. His legacy also includes deep philanthropic commitments, especially in education, youth empowerment, and skills acquisition.

A respected voice in Kano and beyond, Dantata was known for promoting peace and harmony among businessmen and politicians, earning admiration across Nigeria’s social and political divides.

His contributions extended to public service. He once served in the Kano State Government and was a member of the Constitution Drafting Committee that produced the 1979 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Alhaji Dantata was also deeply committed to the growth and development of Islam, contributing significantly to religious and community causes throughout his life.
