UNDER-15 SECONDARY SCHOOLS YOUTH HOLIDAY SPORTS PROGRAMME KICKS OFF TODAY — EKWEREMADU

Enugu State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Barr. Lloyd Ikechukwu Ekweremadu, has announced the commencement of the Under-15 Secondary Schools Youth Holiday Sports Programme across the state.

In a statement issued by the Ministry’s Director of Information, Mr. Dan Onwuegbuna, the programme is set to begin simultaneously across the six education zones of the state: Enugu, Agbani, Awgu, Udi, Nsukka, and Udenu. The event is being held in collaboration with the Post Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB).

The sporting activities will feature a wide range of disciplines including athletics, boxing, judo, wrestling, chess, para-athletics, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, badminton, and karate. Other events include football, volleyball, basketball, squash, and traditional sports.

According to the Commissioner, the programme is aimed at discovering and selecting the best young talents who will represent Enugu State at the upcoming National Under-15 Youth Games scheduled to hold in Asaba, Delta State, from 26th August to 6th September 2025.
