The initiative is part of Hon. Okolo’s broader commitment to ensuring sustainable access to clean and safe water across all Awgu communities. His administration has successfully delivered more than 14 solar-powered boreholes, easing daily struggles and transforming rural livelihoods.

The project aligns with Governor Peter Mbah’s development blueprint, which prioritizes inclusivity and grassroots transformation. It is expected to set a new pace in rural infrastructural transformation in Awgu LGA.

The water project in Mgbowo follows another landmark undertaking — the flag-off of the 3.5-kilometer Awgu–Ugwueme Road Project, a critical route that links communities to the Ugwueme Smart Green School. The road is designed to boost connectivity, stimulate commerce, and enhance access to education.

Local leaders and residents have applauded the Chairman’s efforts, noting that his “One Day, One Project” mantra is a practical demonstration of accountable and people-centered governance.

By combining social amenities with strategic infrastructure, Hon. Okolo continues to consolidate Awgu’s role as a model for rural transformation, while reinforcing Governor Peter Mbah’s vision of an inclusive, progressive, and service-driven Enugu State.
