Originally intended as a gesture of gratitude, the visit quickly transformed into a celebration of Prof. Nnamchi’s achievements in lawmaking, provision of amenities, human capital development, and attraction of federal institutions.

Community leaders, beneficiaries, and cultural groups praised what they described as the unprecedented dividends of democracy brought to the ward through his representation. Elder Onu-Ugwu-Ani, who performed the traditional breaking of the kola nut, hailed the emergence of Prof. Nnamchi as a divine gift and offered prayers for his continued rise in public service.

Ward Chairman, Hon. Mike Ani, in his welcome address, highlighted the numerous projects and interventions delivered to the ward, including ultra-modern streetlights, free medical outreaches, scholarship schemes, computer training, and federal appointments.

Beneficiaries of the scholarship scheme, such as Master Ani Christopher and Miss Nancy Eze, were also given the opportunity to express their gratitude directly to the lawmaker for his life-changing interventions.

The event was further enlivened by cultural performances from groups including the Odabara Ezekiel Cultural Group and Kingdom Dance Entertainment. Prof. Nnamchi delighted the crowd as he joined the performers on stage, showcasing his dance skills in a lively display of solidarity with the people.

In his address, the federal lawmaker thanked the people for their steadfast support and reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises. He disclosed ongoing legislative efforts, including bills for the establishment of a Federal Dry Port and a Federal Medical Center in Akpuoga Nike, while also pledging to deliver a Computer Training Center for the constituency.

Prof. Nnamchi also seized the opportunity of the thank-you visit to formally inform his supporters and party faithful in the ward of his switch from the Labour Party (LP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He explained that the decision to decamp was made in the best interest of the constituency, urging his followers to join him in the new political journey. According to him, remaining in opposition would hinder his ability to attract more developmental projects for the people of Enugu East and Isi-Uzo.

The carnival-like visit drew to a close with renewed pledges of loyalty from supporters, who assured Prof. Nnamchi of their unwavering solidarity as he continues his political and legislative journey.
