UNEC Final Year Marketing Students Visit Enugu Marketing Company on Educational Excursion

On Friday, August 29, 2025, the final year students of the Department of Marketing, University of Nigeria Enugu Campus (UNEC) known as Eminence Consult, embarked on an educational excursion to the Enugu Marketing Company, a state-owned enterprise that serves as a hub for marketing innovation and business development in the Southeast. The visit, which began at 10 a.m., was designed to bridge the gap between classroom theories and real-life marketing practices.

The excursion commenced with a company overview, where Enugu Marketing Company presented its profile, operations, services, and achievements. Students gained valuable insights into how government-owned enterprises are structured, managed, and positioned to compete in today’s business environment.

The students were later taken on a facility tour, visiting the supermarket, rice destoning unit, fashion unit, and packaging unit. Each stop provided a practical demonstration of how marketing integrates into diverse aspects of production, branding, and customer service.

A highlight of the excursion was a marketing presentation, during which the company shared its promotional strategies, collaboration opportunities, and brand visibility plans. Students learned how effective marketing fuels growth through creativity, innovation, and strategic communication.

The program also featured networking and social media engagement, enabling students to interact with industry professionals, exchange ideas, and gain exposure to digital marketing practices that are reshaping today’s marketplace.

Speaking after the visit, several students expressed excitement about the opportunity, noting that it enriched their understanding of marketing beyond classroom theory. The management of Enugu Marketing Company commended UNEC’s Department of Marketing for organizing the visit, stressing that practical exposure is vital in preparing students for the challenges of the professional world.
