Breaking:Former Boxing World Champion Confirmed Dead

Former world boxing champion Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton has died at the age of 46, just weeks after announcing a return to the ring.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed that Hatton was found dead at his home on Bowlacre Road, Hyde, Tameside, early Sunday morning. Officers were called to the scene at around 6:45 a.m. by a member of the public. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

“There are not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances,” a police spokesperson said.

Hatton, widely regarded as one of Britain’s most popular fighters, held multiple world titles between 1997 and 2012, thrilling fans with his aggressive style and trademark body punches. Nicknamed “The Hitman,” he became a household name after high-profile bouts against legends including Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.

His planned comeback was due to take place later this year in Dubai, where he was set to face Eisa Al Dah in an exhibition bout.

Away from the ring, Hatton spoke openly about his struggles with depression and substance abuse, which further endeared him to fans for his candour and resilience.

He is survived by his son, Campbell, who has followed in his footsteps as a professional boxer, two daughters, Millie and Fearne, and a granddaughter, Lyla.

Tributes are already pouring in from across the sporting world, celebrating Hatton’s legacy as both a fighter and a fan favourite whose career inspired a generation of British boxing enthusiasts.
