Uchenna Okolo, has commended the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his historic and strategic decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the move as visionary, courageous, and a defining moment for Enugu State and the entire South East region.
In a statement released through his Special Adviser on General Media and Publicity, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu, Hon. Okolo expressed the unreserved support and solidarity of the government and people of Awgu for Governor Mbah’s political realignment.
“Awgu stands solidly with His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah. Together, under the APC, we are charting a new course for a greater and more prosperous Enugu State and South East region,” he declared.
The Awgu Council Chairman described Governor Mbah’s decision as a unifying bridge between the South East and the Federal Government, one that effectively ends years of political marginalization and opens the door to enhanced federal collaboration, infrastructural development, and economic renewal.
“This is a masterstroke for progress and inclusion. With this move, Governor Mbah has positioned Enugu and the South East for unprecedented development, empowerment, and federal partnership,” Hon. Okolo noted.
Reaffirming his administration’s unwavering commitment to the Governor’s transformative agenda, Hon. Okolo highlighted that his leadership has continued to drive grassroots development in alignment with the Governor’s vision.
According to him, the Awgu Local Government recently commissioned and inspected over 55 completed and ongoing projects, spanning road construction, rural electrification, water supply schemes, educational infrastructure, and solar street lighting across various communities.
He emphasized that Governor Mbah’s exemplary leadership has ignited a new wave of proactive governance among local government chairmen in Enugu State, fostering accountability, innovation, and tangible results at the grassroots.
“Governor Mbah’s transformational leadership has redefined governance in Enugu. His courage and foresight have inspired us to deliver more for our people, and we are proud to stand with him as he leads Enugu into a new era of growth under the APC,” Okolo stated.
Hon. Okolo concluded by urging all Awgu stakeholders, traditional rulers, community leaders, and residents to rally behind the Governor’s new political direction, assuring that the realignment signals the dawn of a brighter and more prosperous future for Enugu State and the South East.
“The journey to a greater Enugu and a more integrated South East has truly begun. Our best days are now within reach,” he affirmed.
