
The Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA) has announced that the first environmental sanitation exercise for the year 2026 will hold on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 7:00am to 10:00am.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!In a Public Service Announcement dated January 22, 2026, the Authority informed the general public that there will be a strict restriction of movement during the exercise. Both human and vehicular movements will be prohibited within the stipulated hours, except for individuals on essential duties, who must present valid means of identification or an official ESWAMA Pass.
ESWAMA disclosed that the Mobile Environmental Court will be deployed across designated routes during the exercise, warning that defaulters will be arrested and prosecuted promptly.
The announcement further stated that early morning sporting activities, loading and off-loading of passengers in motor parks, as well as other commercial activities across the state, are to be suspended throughout the duration of the clean-up.
The Authority called on Ndi Enugu to fully participate in the sanitation exercise, stressing that collective action is necessary to keep the city clean and promote a healthier environment.
