In his New Month message to the people of Awgu, delivered through his Special Adviser on General Media and Publicity, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu, the Chairman called on residents to embrace peace, diligence, mutual respect, and a strong community spirit as essential foundations for inclusive growth and development.

Hon. Okolo encouraged Ndi Awgu to actively participate in the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) electronic membership registration exercise, describing it as a strategic pathway to political inclusion, stronger representation, and improved access to development opportunities. He explained that broad participation in the exercise would strengthen Awgu’s collective voice and deepen its connection to the centre of governance.

The Chairman noted that the e-registration exercise should be viewed beyond partisan considerations, but rather as a collective investment in the future of Awgu, capable of accelerating development and expanding opportunities for the people.

Reflecting on his administration’s journey so far, Hon. Okolo expressed gratitude to God and the people of Awgu for their continued support, stating that the progress recorded in recent months was made possible through unity, cooperation, and a shared commitment to community development.

He commended the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his visionary leadership and bold infrastructural drive, which he said have repositioned Enugu State as a centre of innovation, economic growth, and modern governance.

According to him, the Governor’s transformational agenda has created an enabling environment for local governments to function effectively and deliver impactful, people-centred projects at the grassroots.

The Chairman observed that Enugu State has witnessed unprecedented infrastructural activity under the current administration, noting that Awgu Local Government Area is aligning fully with this development momentum through inclusive governance and targeted interventions that respond to the needs of the people.

Looking ahead, Hon. Okolo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to consolidating ongoing projects and initiating new interventions in key sectors such as water supply, road infrastructure, security, education, healthcare, and social welfare.
He assured residents that flagship initiatives, including the Awgu Water for All Initiative, strategic road projects linking Smart Green Schools, enhanced security architecture, and other people-oriented programmes, would be sustained and expanded to ensure that development reaches every community in Awgu Local Government Area.

The Chairman concluded by wishing the people of Awgu a peaceful, productive, and prosperous month of February, expressing optimism that the months ahead will usher in greater unity, accelerated development, good health, and shared prosperity across Awgu.
