Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia of Benue State has declared a total crackdown on insecurity across the state following the deployment and reinforcement of security personnel to troubled communities, particularly in Kwande and other affected local government areas.
The governor made this known while receiving a security briefing on the successful deployment of security forces to the affected areas as part of ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability in communities that have recently experienced security challenges.
In a signed statement by Solomon Iorpev, Technical Adviser to the Governor on Media, Publicity and Strategic Communication, the Benue State Government said the latest deployment forms part of a broader strategy to decisively tackle criminal activities and protect residents across the state.
Governor Alia commended security agencies for their tireless efforts in restoring calm to troubled communities, noting that the reinforcement of personnel marks the beginning of a sustained offensive against bandits and other criminal elements threatening peace in the state.
He stressed that perpetrators of insecurity would be relentlessly pursued and brought to justice, emphasizing that his administration remains committed to safeguarding the lives, property, and livelihoods of the people, particularly farmers whose activities are often disrupted by violent attacks.
The governor further warned that the government would not be deterred by any form of resistance from criminal groups, reiterating that the protection of communities and farmlands remains a top priority of his administration.
“Let this be a warning to all perpetrators of insecurity: I will not be intimidated and I will not be deterred. My administration will crush insecurity in Benue State,” Governor Alia declared.
He also assured residents that the state government would leave no stone unturned in its efforts to ensure lasting peace and security across Benue State.
