Tochukwu Chukwu, the chairman described the Easter season as a profound moment for reflection, urging residents to embrace the core values of love, tolerance, mutual respect, and understanding as exemplified during the Lenten period.
Hon. Okolo emphasized that the resurrection of Jesus Christ symbolizes sacrifice, redemption, and renewal—values he said remain critical for fostering peaceful coexistence and sustainable progress within communities. He encouraged the people of Awgu to remain steadfast in demonstrating kindness and unity, reminding them of the importance of being “their brother’s keeper” in building a more inclusive society.
Reassuring residents of his administration’s unwavering commitment to development, the council chairman reiterated that both ongoing and new projects across Awgu communities would continue to receive priority attention. He noted that his leadership remains focused on delivering impactful governance at the grassroots level.
Hon. Okolo also commended the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for what he described as exemplary leadership and transformative infrastructural development across the state. He praised the governor’s inclusive governance style, which he said has fostered peaceful coexistence among citizens regardless of religious or ethnic differences.
According to him, the enabling environment created by the state government has significantly strengthened local administration efforts, allowing for effective delivery of projects and services that directly impact the lives of the people.
