Authorities stressed that enforcement will be intensified, and any motorcycle found operating commercially within restricted areas will be immediately impounded by the appropriate enforcement agencies.
However, the Ministry clarified that not all motorcycle activities are prohibited. Only officially registered and government-authorised logistics motorcycles are permitted to operate, and even at that, strictly within approved routes and conditions.
According to the statement, the government is committed to ensuring a more organised and safer transport system that benefits all residents. It therefore appealed to commercial riders and members of the public to cooperate fully with the policy in order to avoid penalties and unnecessary sanctions.
The Ministry further expressed appreciation to residents for their understanding and continued support, assuring that the measure is in the best interest of public safety and urban development in Enugu State.
