ESWAMA Announces April Environmental Sanitation Exercise, Eases Enforcement Over NECO–BECE Exams

The Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA) has announced that its monthly environmental sanitation exercise for April 2026 will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

In a statement signed by Mr. Richard Onaga, Managing Director of the Enugu State Waste Management Authority, the agency disclosed that enforcement activities will be relaxed during the exercise period in consideration of the nationwide NECO–BECE examinations scheduled for the same day, to allow free movement of candidates, parents, and other members of the public.

The Authority urged residents across Enugu State to fully participate in the sanitation exercise by cleaning their surroundings, clearing drainages, and ensuring proper waste disposal in line with environmental regulations.

ESWAMA reiterated that environmental cleanliness remains a shared civic responsibility, essential to safeguarding public health, improving safety, and promoting sustainable living across the state.
