Speaking shortly after obtaining the forms, Hon. Engr. Mike Ogbuekwe expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters for their encouragement and confidence in his aspiration, assuring the people of his commitment to quality leadership, unity, and people-oriented governance.
According to him, the decision to contest for the chairmanship position is a call to greater service and responsibility towards the growth and development of Nkanu East.
Widely regarded as one of the notable contributors to Enugu State’s agricultural transformation agenda under the administration of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Ogbuekwe has played active roles in agricultural development initiatives, rural farmers’ support programs, workers’ welfare, and economic empowerment strategies across the state.
The agricultural expert and political mobilizer is also recognized as the convener of the frontline IjeAwele Movement, a grassroots political structure known for its vigorous mobilization efforts and support for good governance across Enugu State.
He further pledged to champion policies that would promote agricultural development, youth empowerment, infrastructural growth, and improved welfare for residents across the council area.
Ogbuekwe also appreciated party faithful, political allies, and supporters for their unwavering support, noting that collective effort remains vital in building a stronger, united, and more progressive Nkanu East.
