
The peaceful community of Achi in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State came alive on Thursday as dignitaries, political associates, family members, and sympathizers gathered to celebrate the remarkable life of Late Mrs. Okwuneriego Monica Okah (née Onuabueke), fondly known as Acharaugo, who passed on at the age of 95.

Among prominent personalities present at the funeral ceremony was the Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District, Senator Osita Ngwu, who joined the Okah family in paying glowing tribute to the revered matriarch.


Late Mrs. Monica Okah was the mother of Chief Mrs. Beatrice Ekweremadu, wife of former Deputy Senate President, Prof. Ike Ekweremadu, and was widely respected for her wisdom, strength, humility, and unwavering devotion to family and community values.


Speaking during the occasion, Senator Ngwu described the late matriarch as a woman whose life reflected grace, resilience, and selfless service to humanity. According to him, her legacy of discipline, love, and dedication to family would remain a source of inspiration for generations to come.


The senator noted that attaining the age of 95 was itself a testimony of God’s grace and a fulfilled life marked by meaningful relationships and positive impact on society.

He further prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul while encouraging the family to uphold the noble virtues and enduring values she represented throughout her lifetime.
