In a goodwill message issued by the Movement, the Director General, Hon. Kingsley Ezinwa, extolled Ogbuekwe’s remarkable career trajectory spanning both the private and public sectors, as well as his extensive leadership experience across two states of the federation.

According to the statement, Ogbuekwe began his professional career in the banking sector as a Business Development Manager with Intercontinental Bank Plc before transitioning into the oil and gas industry as a Field Engineer with Baker Hughes Incorporated, a global energy technology company. During this period, he underwent international professional training in Aberdeen (Scotland), Houston (USA), Paris (France), Seoul (South Korea), and other global centres of excellence.

The Movement further noted that his entry into public service in 2014 marked the beginning of a distinguished administrative career. In Anambra State under Governor Willie Obiano, he served in several capacities, including Senior Special Assistant on Agriculture; Member of the Anambra State Economic Think Tank; Secretary of the State Land Acquisition and Mediation Team; Secretary of the Agriculture Transformation Implementation Team; Director General of the Project Management and Monitoring Office (PMMO); Secretary of the Standards and Modernization Committee; and Secretary of the Roads Design Review Committee.

It added that as Director General of PMMO, Ogbuekwe contributed to project monitoring and evaluation frameworks that reportedly saved the Anambra State Government over Two Billion Naira through improved oversight of contracts, projects, and implementation standards.

The statement also recalled his subsequent appointment in the Enugu State Government under Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, where he served as Special Adviser to the Governor, Focal Person on the Enugu State Non-Oil Export Programme, Member of the World Bank-supported Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Committee, Member of the Enugu State COVID-19 Emergency and Palliative Committee, and Member of the Enugu State Public Sector Reform Committee.

It further stated that under the current administration of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Ogbuekwe serves as Special Adviser on Agriculture and Chief Executive Officer of the Enugu State Marketing Company Limited, through which he continues to contribute to agricultural development, economic planning, and institutional strengthening.

The Movement described his service across Anambra and Enugu States under three different administrations as a rare achievement in Nigeria’s public service landscape, noting that it reflects his competence, professionalism, and capacity to deliver results across varying governance environments.

It also highlighted his professional affiliations as a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria and a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration of Nigeria, while noting his emergence as the APC Chairmanship Candidate for Nkanu East Local Government Area as a reflection of his growing political influence and grassroots acceptance.

The IjeAwele Movement commended his leadership as Convener and Board of Trustees Chairman, describing him as a symbol of dedication, mentorship, and community development.

As part of the birthday message, Hon. Kingsley Ezinwa prayed for continued wisdom, sound health, and greater accomplishments for the celebrant, expressing confidence in his continued service to humanity and society.
