
The Nkerefi Youths General Assembly (NYGA) has extended warm felicitations to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship Candidate for Nkanu East Local Government Area, Chief Engr. Mike Ogbuekwe, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a thoroughbred professional, visionary leader, and one of the most accomplished sons of Nkerefi.

According to the Assembly, Ogbuekwe has consistently distinguished himself as one of Nigeria’s finest university-trained engineers, whose expertise and dedication have earned him recognition across both the private and public sectors.
The group highlighted his successful career in the petroleum and banking industries, where he served with distinction and demonstrated exceptional competence in handling complex responsibilities. It further noted that his outstanding performance attracted the attention of the Government of Anambra State, where he served meritoriously and left an enduring legacy of excellence.
NYGA recalled that his impressive record of service later earned him an invitation from the administration of former Governor Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to contribute his wealth of experience to the development of Enugu State. The Assembly observed that Ogbuekwe has continued to uphold the same standards of excellence under the current administration of Governor Dr. Peter Mbah.
The youth organization described his emergence as the APC Chairmanship Candidate for the forthcoming 2026 Enugu State Local Government Elections as a fitting recognition of his hard work, competence, and dedication to service.
“The reward for hard work is more work. It is therefore not surprising that his party has entrusted him with the responsibility of leading its campaign for the Nkanu East Chairmanship position. Indeed, a golden fish has no hiding place,” the statement read.
While celebrating the renowned engineer and administrator, the Assembly prayed for God’s continued blessings upon him, wishing him good health, wisdom, greater accomplishments, and many more years of impactful service to humanity.
The statement concluded by describing Ogbuekwe as “Mmiri Oma na Nkerefi” and reaffirmed the youths’ admiration for his leadership, achievements, and commitment to the progress of Nkerefi, Nkanu East, and Enugu State at large.
