Thirty students of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) have secured automatic employment opportunities with the Dangote Group upon graduation, following an educational tour of the Dangote Refinery and Fertilizer Plant in Lagos.

Announcing the development through a social media post, Professor Oti disclosed that the President and Chief Executive of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, personally offered the employment opportunities after expressing admiration for her integrity, leadership, and service to the nation.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, Dangote informed her during a telephone conversation that the gesture was in recognition of her contributions to national development and humanity.
“Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group of Companies, just called and offered the 30 FUTO students I took on a tour of his refinery and fertilizer plant in Lagos automatic employment upon graduation,” she stated.
Professor Oti further quoted Dangote as saying that the offer was made to honour her “integrity and national service to Nigeria and humanity.”
Reacting to the development, the visibly emotional Vice-Chancellor described the gesture as a great honour and a remarkable highlight of her tenure.
“What an honour. What a glorious way to bow out. What else can I ask for? Lord, to You alone be all the glory,” she wrote.
The announcement has been widely celebrated by members of the university community and stakeholders in the education sector, with many describing it as a testament to the value of academic-industry partnerships and exemplary leadership.
The employment offer is expected to provide a significant career boost for the beneficiaries, while strengthening the relationship between FUTO and the Dangote Group, one of Africa’s largest industrial conglomerates.
