
The Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Okolo, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and stakeholders across the council area to remain united and committed to grassroots mobilization in order to strengthen the party and promote sustainable development.

Hon. Okolo made the call through the Secretary to the Local Government, Rt. Hon. Nelson Uduji, during a stakeholders’ meeting of the APC held in Awgu. The meeting brought together party leaders, elected representatives, political appointees, candidates, youth leaders, women’s groups, and supporters to deliberate on strategies for strengthening the party and advancing development within the local government and Enugu State.
Speaking on behalf of the council chairman, Rt. Hon. Uduji reaffirmed Hon. Okolo’s commitment to inclusive governance, grassroots empowerment, and the welfare of the people. He emphasized the need for unity among party members, noting that collective action and cooperation remain essential for achieving sustainable development and political progress.

He further commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his transformative leadership and developmental projects across Enugu State, describing them as visible indicators of purposeful governance capable of improving the lives of citizens.
The meeting featured goodwill messages from prominent political leaders and stakeholders. The Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Osita Ngwu, and the Member representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji-River Federal Constituency, Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu, were both ably represented by Hon. Emeka Udeh, who conveyed their goodwill messages and reaffirmed their commitment to the growth and progress of the APC in Awgu Local Government Area and Enugu State at large.

Hon. Emeka Udeh also announced the financial support of both Senator Osita Ngwu and Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu towards strengthening party activities and grassroots mobilization efforts, assuring members of their continued support for initiatives aimed at consolidating the party’s presence across the zone.

In his address, the APC Chairman in Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Kenechukwu Okolo, applauded the leadership of Hon. Uchenna Okolo and commended party members for their loyalty and dedication. He urged stakeholders to sustain the spirit of unity and work collectively toward expanding the party’s reach throughout the local government.



The Enugu West APC Zonal Youth Leader, Hon. Ozo Ejike Tasie, who attended the meeting as the State Observer, commended the leadership of the party in Awgu Local Government Area and stressed the need for sustained grassroots mobilization. He announced that following the conclusion of ward meetings, the party would commence polling unit meetings across the local government to strengthen its grassroots structure and improve engagement with members. Hon. Tasie also urged all party faithful and eligible residents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), emphasizing that active voter participation remains crucial to the success of the party and the consolidation of democratic governance.



The Enugu State Commissioner for Human Development and Poverty Eradication, Hon. Prof. Bernadette Ekwutosi Okoli, commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his transformative leadership and remarkable developmental strides across Enugu State. He urged party members to continue supporting the governor’s vision for a more prosperous state while also applauding Hon. Uchenna Okolo for providing effective leadership and promoting grassroots participation in Awgu Local Government Area.


Similarly, the APC Candidate for Awgu North State Constituency, Hon. Ezenta Charles, declared his unwavering support for the party and pledged to work with stakeholders at all levels to consolidate the gains already recorded by the APC in the area. He emphasized the need for unity, effective grassroots mobilization, and continued support for the APC and Governor Peter Mbah’s development-driven administration.



Among other dignitaries who sent their financial were the Member representing Awgu South State Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Anthony Nwankwo; the Deputy Majority Leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Jane Ene; other present were ward executives led by coordinating ward Chairman Hon. Okibe Michael, women leaders, youth groups, community leaders, and numerous party faithful from across Awgu Local Government Area.



The meeting ended with a renewed commitment by stakeholders to strengthen the APC, deepen grassroots mobilization, promote unity among members, and support Governor Peter Mbah’s developmental vision for Enugu State while ensuring continued progress and prosperity for the people of Awgu Local Government Area.
