The six-day intensive training equipped one hundred (100) young people with practical vocational and entrepreneurial skills aimed at promoting self-reliance, innovation, and sustainable economic empowerment.
At the closing ceremony, all participants were presented with Certificates of Completion in recognition of their successful participation. In addition, beneficiaries received smartphones, stipends, and vocational toolkits to support their transition from training to enterprise and encourage the practical application of the skills acquired.
Demonstrating her personal commitment to youth entrepreneurship, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Diaspora Matters, Barr. Speaking during the ceremony, Barr. Ezekwu encouraged the participants to embrace lifelong learning, innovation, and enterprise.
“Stay ready, because opportunity calls but once,” she charged. “The knowledge and skills you have acquired during this programme are valuable assets. No knowledge is a waste. Every lesson learned here has the potential to transform your life, create opportunities for others, and contribute to the development of Enugu State.”
She further urged the participants to move beyond seeking jobs and instead aspire to become entrepreneurs and employers of labour who would contribute meaningfully to the state’s economic growth.
The ceremony was attended by the Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Barr. Prof. Chidiebere Onyia; the Honourable Commissioner for Human Development and Poverty Eradication, Mrs. Benedette Ekwutosi Okoli; the Special Adviser to the Governor on Small and Medium Enterprises, Mr. Chilo Arinze Offiah; the Senior Special Assistant on Sustainable Development Goals, Mrs. Onyinye Akubuilo Okpalanma; and other senior government officials, all of whom commended the participants for their dedication and encouraged them to maximise the opportunities presented through the programme.
