Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has assured residents that the month of August will usher in greater opportunities, accelerated development and renewed hope, urging the people to remain united and steadfast in supporting the collective vision of a prosperous Awgu.

Tochukwu Chukwu, the Council Chairman expressed deep appreciation to the people of Awgu for their unwavering trust, cooperation and continued support, describing them as the driving force behind the administration’s growing achievements.
Okolo said the remarkable progress recorded across the local government is a reflection of the resilience, peaceful disposition and shared commitment of the people to the development of their communities.
According to him, the journey towards building a modern and prosperous Awgu can only be sustained through unity, collective responsibility and an unwavering belief in the possibilities that lie ahead.
“As we welcome the month of August, I encourage every son and daughter of Awgu to remain hopeful, uphold peace, support one another and continue to partner with government in our collective quest for sustainable development. Together, we will build the prosperous Awgu we all desire,” he said.
The Chairman reaffirmed that his administration remains committed to delivering transparent, accountable and people-oriented governance, stressing that ongoing investments in critical sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment, rural development and economic growth, will continue to receive priority attention.
He assured residents that no community would be left behind, emphasizing that the welfare and wellbeing of the people remain the foundation upon which every policy and programme of his administration is built.
Okolo also paid glowing tribute to the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, describing him as a visionary leader whose bold reforms and development-driven policies have continued to redefine governance and fast-track socio-economic transformation across the state.
He noted that Governor Mbah’s strategic investments in modern infrastructure, quality education, healthcare, security, agriculture, technology, enterprise development and economic expansion have not only improved public service delivery but also positioned Enugu as one of Nigeria’s fastest-emerging investment destinations.
The Awgu Council Chairman further commended the governor for strengthening collaboration between the state government and local councils, saying the partnership has enhanced grassroots governance and accelerated the execution of impactful projects that directly improve the lives of ordinary citizens.
Reaffirming the unwavering support of the people of Awgu for Governor Mbah’s transformational agenda, Okolo pledged the council’s continued commitment to working closely with the state government to expand development, create more opportunities and improve the quality of life for residents across the local government.
As he welcomed residents into the new month, the Chairman prayed for divine protection, peace, good health, abundant blessings and greater accomplishments for every family, business and community in Awgu.
He also urged residents to remain law-abiding, optimistic and united, expressing confidence that with sustained collaboration, responsible leadership and God’s guidance, Awgu Local Government would continue on its path of unprecedented growth and development.
