Reacting to the governor’s declaration, Keyamo described Adeleke as a man of “integrity and honour,” while thanking him for what he termed his public and unequivocal endorsement of the President.
In a post on X on Sunday, Keyamo wrote: “Thank you, Governor Ademola Adeleke, for the public and unequivocal endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 Presidential Election.
“You are a man of integrity and honour. ‘Agreement is agreement.’”
Adeleke, in his victory speech, also commended President Tinubu for what he described as his support for a free and fair electoral process in Osun State.
The governor said: “At this point, I must deeply appreciate Mr President, His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his strong support for a free and fair election.”
Describing Tinubu as “a son of Osun State,” Adeleke subsequently reaffirmed his earlier commitment to support the President’s re-election bid in 2027.
“Mr President is a son of Osun State and I hereby reaffirm my earlier endorsement of him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election,” the governor stated.
Keyamo’s reaction has further drawn attention to Adeleke’s political alignment with Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election, despite the governor’s membership of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The renewed endorsement is expected to remain a subject of political discussion as parties and political actors begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
