The letter was jointly signed by the Chairman of the Council, HRM Justice F. Ken Ezeike (Rtd); the Secretary, HRH Igwe Uche A. Alugwu; and 33 other traditional rulers and members of the council.
According to the monarchs, the matter was deliberated upon during their monthly meeting held on July 2, 2026, at the Udi Local Government Area Headquarters, where members unanimously resolved to formally appreciate Senator Ngwu for his efforts.
The council noted that the completion of the two lanes had substantially improved traffic flow and made movement along the hill safer and easier for motorists and other road users.
The traditional rulers recalled that the stretch had previously been notorious for avoidable accidents and loss of lives, stressing that its completion was therefore of immense importance to the people of Udi and the wider Enugu West Senatorial District.
They also praised Senator Ngwu for what they described as his “gallant and constructive presentations” on the floor of the Senate, saying his performance had justified the confidence reposed in him by the people.
“Our choice of having you in the Red Chambers is never to be regretted. It is rather an indication and testament of our readiness to vote you in again and again come 2027 and even in 2031,” the monarchs stated.
The council further said Senator Ngwu’s interventions across the Enugu West Senatorial District constituted tangible evidence of effective representation.
It pledged to continue communicating his achievements and development efforts to their respective communities.
The traditional rulers equally commended the senator for his respect and recognition of traditional institutions, particularly his regard for the royal fathers of Udi Local Government Area.
They said Ngwu’s involvement in issues surrounding the Ninth Mile–Ugwu Onyeama–Enugu road, alongside his legislative interventions and engagements with relevant authorities, demonstrated his commitment to issues affecting the safety, welfare and economic activities of his constituents.
The letter, endorsed by the council’s chairman, secretary and 33 other traditional rulers and members, was presented as a collective expression of appreciation for the senator’s role in the development of the area.
