The Deputy Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Enugu State Chapter, and Chairman of Igboeze South Local Government Area, Barr. Ugo-Ferdinand Ukwueze, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appointment of Governor Peter Ndubisi Mbah as his campaign coordinator for the South East as a sign of assured victory for the President.

Speaking with newsmen in Enugu on Sunday over President Tinubu’s choice of Governor Mbah to coordinate his campaign in the South East, Hon. Ukwueze stated that Governor Mbah’s combination of good governance and grassroots leadership has made him a name to behold in the South East.

He stated that Governor Mbah has demonstrated a rare capacity to translate political vision into practical development, noting that his administration has given the people of Enugu State renewed confidence in the ability of government to deliver meaningful results.

According to him, Governor Mbah has distinguished himself through his bold approach to infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, economic development and human capital investment. He said the Governor’s strong connection with the grassroots has earned him respect across communities, local governments and political circles in the South East.

Ukwueze further described Governor Mbah as a political leader with the courage, exposure and administrative competence required to effectively mobilise the South East for President Tinubu. He said the Governor understands the aspirations of the people and possesses the political reach to engage stakeholders across party structures, traditional institutions, community leadership and the wider electorate.

He maintained that the President’s confidence in Governor Mbah reflects the Governor’s growing influence and his ability to build bridges among diverse interests. He praised Mbah for maintaining a development driven administration while also giving attention to the needs of ordinary citizens.

The council chairman expressed confidence that Governor Mbah’s appointment would strengthen the President’s political presence in the South East, describing the Governor as a trusted political asset whose organisational capacity, popularity and record of performance would contribute significantly to the President’s campaign.

He urged political stakeholders across the region to support Governor Mbah in the assignment, stressing that his leadership offers the South East a strong platform for constructive engagement with the Federal Government.

Ukwueze, however, affirmed that with Governor Mbah at the helm of the South East campaign structure, President Tinubu can expect a well coordinated, energetic and people centred mobilisation capable of delivering a decisive electoral advantage in the region.
