Stakeholders in Ogugu, Amoli and Enyimba Amoli communities of Awgu Local Government Area have declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Awgu Council Chairman, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, and other APC candidates ahead of the September 26, 2026 local government elections.

The declarations were made during separate APC campaign engagements held in the three communities, where community leaders, women, youths, political stakeholders and party supporters interacted with the campaign team.

In Ogugu, stakeholders, including Mrs. Beatrice Ochie, Hon. Uchenna Obasi, High Chief Dr. Augustine Okorie and Hon. Okey Nathan Ude, pledged to mobilise support for the APC candidates.

The campaign team included Okolo, Deputy Chairman Dr. Stanley Ezediuto, APC Chairman in Awgu LGA Hon. Kenechukwu Okolo, APC candidate for Awgu North State Constituency Prince Charles Ezenta, Hon. Nelson Uduji and other party leaders.

At Amoli, stakeholders commended the Okolo administration and expressed support for the APC ahead of the council election.

A notable moment at the gathering was the presentation of a recognition award to Chairman Okolo by Amb. Mrs. Ginika Torh. The presenter attributed the award to Okolo’s leadership, grassroots engagement and activities in Awgu.

The campaign team subsequently visited Enyimba Amoli, where community and political stakeholders also expressed support for the APC and pledged to mobilise residents ahead of the election.

Responding to the various messages of support, Okolo thanked the communities for their reception and participation.

He also commended Governor Peter Mbah’s administration and reaffirmed his council’s support for the state government. Okolo said his administration would continue to work with the state government on development initiatives across Awgu.

Speaking specifically on Amoli, the chairman listed rural electrification, road infrastructure and the extension of the borehole water project among initiatives his administration plans to pursue. He said the projects form part of his campaign promises under the “One Community, One Project” and “Water for All” programmes.

Okolo also appealed for continued unity and cooperation between the communities and government.

The latest engagements form part of the APC’s ongoing campaign activities across Awgu. The party has also held campaign meetings in communities including Ogbaku, Awgunta, Obeagu and Owelli.

The September 26 council elections are expected to see political parties and candidates intensify their engagements with voters across the local government area.
