Residents of Independence Layout and New Haven in Enugu North Local Government Area have expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Peter Mbah, APC chairmanship candidate Dr. Ibenaku Harford Onoh and other candidates of the party ahead of the forthcoming local government elections in Enugu State.

The endorsement came on Sunday when the Enugu North APC Campaign Team visited Independence Layout Ward 11 and New Haven Ward 10 as part of its ongoing ward-to-ward mobilisation and engagement with residents.
The campaign team received what party leaders described as a royal welcome, with residents and supporters turning out in large numbers to receive the delegation.
The visits featured goodwill messages, presentations and exchange of gifts, while community members and party stakeholders used the opportunity to highlight projects and interventions they said had impacted positively on their communities.
At New Haven, particular attention was drawn to the extensive road construction and rehabilitation undertaken by the administration of Governor Peter Mbah across the Enugu metropolis.
Residents commended the governor for what they described as a significant transformation of the area’s road infrastructure, noting that several roads previously characterised by poor accessibility had either been reconstructed or rehabilitated.
The administration’s urban road programme has covered several roads across Enugu North, including projects within the New Haven axis, as part of its wider infrastructure renewal programme in the state.
The residents also commended Dr. Ibenaku Harford Onoh for his interventions in Enugu North, particularly the deployment of solar-powered streetlights across communities in the local government.
Speakers at the two ward meetings described the street-lighting intervention as an important step towards improving visibility and security within residential areas, while also highlighting other projects and programmes undertaken during Onoh’s first two years in office.
The campaign team was led by Hon. Ernest Onuoha, APC Chairman, Enugu North LGA, and Dr. Ibenaku Harford Onoh, APC Chairmanship Candidate for Enugu North LGA.
Among those who accompanied the team were Hon. Echezona Ugwu, Deputy Chairman, Enugu North LGA; Rt. Hon. Chimaobi Atu, Member of the Federal House of Representatives; Hon. Johnson Ani, Member of the Enugu State House of Assembly; Hon. Dubem Onyia Jnr., Special Adviser to the Governor on Donor Relations; and Hon. Chizoba Nnamani, Leader of the Enugu North LGA Legislative Council.
Also present were former Executive Chairmen of Enugu North LGA, Hon. Emeka Onunze (Tata) and Ozo Hon. Emmanuel Onoh, alongside other party leaders, stakeholders and supporters.
Speaker after speaker commended the performance of the Mbah administration and the interventions of Onoh at the local government level, while calling on residents to support the APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
The speakers also linked their support for the party’s candidates to what they described as visible infrastructure and grassroots interventions across Enugu North.
Responding, Dr. Onoh thanked residents of both wards for the reception and support, describing them as critical partners in the administration’s development efforts.
He pledged continued attention to grassroots development and urged residents to sustain their support for him and other APC candidates across the various levels of the election.
The engagements in Independence Layout and New Haven form part of the APC’s continuing ward-to-ward campaign across Enugu North LGA as the party intensifies its mobilisation ahead of the local government elections.
