Chairman-Elect of Nkanu East Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Mike Ogbuekwe, has formally received his Certificate of Return from the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), marking a significant step towards the commencement of his administration and his assumption of office as the elected chairman of the council.

Ogbuekwe, while reflecting on the electoral victory, said the certificate represents more than an official document, describing it as a symbol of the trust, confidence, prayers and support of the people of Nkanu East throughout the electoral process.
He expressed gratitude to God and thanked the people, supporters and stakeholders who contributed to his successful emergence.
The Chairman-Elect also expressed appreciation to the Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for the confidence reposed in him, as well as the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State for its support, guidance and belief in his political journey.
With the electoral contest now concluded, Ogbuekwe said his attention is firmly focused on governance and delivering on the mandate entrusted to him by the people.
“The campaign is over, and the real work begins,” he said, pledging to serve the people, listen to their concerns and work collaboratively with stakeholders towards the progress and development of Nkanu East.
He called for unity and collective effort in the task of building the local government, stressing that the next phase requires the participation and support of all.
“Together, we move forward. Tomorrow Is Here!” Ogbuekwe declared.
The presentation of the Certificate of Return formally ushers Ogbuekwe into the transition phase ahead of the commencement of his administration in Nkanu East Local Government Area.
