Mike Aninwogbu Support Group Congratulates Ogbuekwe on Swearing-In as Nkanu East Chairman

The Mike Aninwogbu Support Group has congratulated Hon. Engr. Mike Chikosolu Ogbuekwe, popularly known as “Mmiri Oma na Nkanu,” on his successful swearing-in as Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Area.

The group conveyed its congratulatory message in a publication celebrating Ogbuekwe’s assumption of office and wishing him a successful tenure in service to the people of the local government.

Ogbuekwe, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the September 26, 2026 Nkanu East Local Government chairmanship election, was declared winner of the poll by the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC).

His emergence followed weeks of grassroots engagement across the 14 wards of Nkanu East, during which he interacted with community leaders, stakeholders, youths and residents as part of his campaign.

The Mike Aninwogbu Support Group was among the support structures that participated in the campaign, mobilising grassroots support for Ogbuekwe ahead of the election. The group had earlier reaffirmed its support for his candidacy and participated in ward-to-ward mobilisation activities across the local government.

Following his victory, Ogbuekwe received his Certificate of Return from ENSIEC and stated that the electoral contest had ended, with his attention now shifting to governance, service and development.

In its latest congratulatory message, the Mike Aninwogbu Support Group described the swearing-in as the beginning of a new phase in Ogbuekwe’s public service journey.

The group expressed confidence that his administration would focus on the responsibilities of grassroots governance and respond to the needs and expectations of residents across Nkanu East.

It also wished the new council chairman wisdom, strength and a successful tenure, while urging him to remain committed to inclusive leadership and the development of the local government.

With the election and transition processes now concluded, attention in Nkanu East has shifted to governance and the delivery of the mandate entrusted to the new administration.
