The Executive Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. Ibenaku Harford Onoh, has commenced his second term in office, pledging to consolidate the gains of his first tenure and deepen grassroots development across the local government.

Onoh was sworn in for another tenure on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, by the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, at the Lion Building, Enugu State Government House.

The swearing-in marked the conclusion of his first tenure and the commencement of another chapter of service to the people of Enugu North LGA.

Reflecting on his first two years in office, Onoh described the period as one of learning, growth and purposeful service, noting that his administration remained committed to fulfilling its promises and delivering on its mandate.

He said his administration’s development strategy had been firmly anchored on a ward-based approach, designed to ensure that every ward and urban community in Enugu North LGA benefits from government projects, interventions, appointments and opportunities.

According to him, the approach was driven by the conviction that grassroots governance must be inclusive, equitable and responsive to the needs of the people.

Onoh expressed profound appreciation to the people of Enugu North LGA, including residents, traders, workers, women, youths, political stakeholders and faithful members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for their support, trust and confidence throughout his first tenure.

He assured the people that the confidence reposed in his administration would continue to serve as a motivation to work harder and deliver more impactful governance.

The chairman also expressed appreciation to Governor Peter Mbah for the opportunity to serve for another term, while commending the governor’s leadership and the development initiatives being implemented across Enugu State.

“As we begin another chapter of service, we remain committed to consolidating our achievements, strengthening good governance and taking grassroots development to every part of Enugu North LGA,” Onoh said.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building on the foundation already laid while ensuring that the benefits of governance reach more residents and communities across the local government.

For Onoh, the commencement of the second tenure is not merely a continuation of office, but a renewed call to service, accountability and inclusive development.
