The Chairman, Science Technical Vocational Schools Management Board (STVSMB), Amaka Ngene, has called on teachers to adopt digital technologies and best practices to ensure effective teaching in schools.
In a statement commemorating this year’s National Teachers Day, Ngene highlighted the state government’s plans to enhance the teaching profession. These initiatives include increased funding, mentorship programs, digital integration, recognition, and rewards.
“Teachers play a vital role in shaping the future of our students, and therefore, must always inculcate significant values in them,” Ngene emphasized. “Teachers remain the future of our tomorrow.”
Ngene commended teachers for their unwavering dedication and commitment to excellence, praising their hard work and resilience in the face of challenges.

This year’s National Teachers Day theme, “Valuing Teachers’ Voices: towards a new social contract for education,” resonates deeply, Ngene noted. “It’s apt and timely, emphasizing the need for a more inclusive dialogue about the role of teachers in education.”
