The swearing-in ceremony, which took place at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Awgu, was attended by dignitaries including Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, Representative of the Governor; Hon. Barr. Lloyd Ike Ekweremadu, Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports; and Hon. Justice C.A Ogbuabor, representing the Chief Judge of Enugu State.

In his keynote address, Prof. Onyia, who represented the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, emphasized the importance of the NYSC scheme in promoting national unity, community development, and sustainable growth.

“The NYSC scheme is a platform for our youths to contribute to the development of our nation,” Prof. Onyia said. “I urge you to enthusiastically embrace your postings and contribute meaningfully to your host communities.”
Hon. Uche Okolo, Chairman of Awgu Local Government Council, assured the corps members of the local government’s commitment to their welfare, security, and integration into the community.

“We are delighted to welcome you to Awgu LGA, and we are committed to ensuring that your stay with us is memorable and impactful,” Hon. Okolo said. “We encourage you to explore our rich cultural heritage, engage with our people, and contribute your quota to the development of our community.”

The ceremony was also attended by other dignitaries including , Hon. Anthony Nwankwo, Member Representing AWGU South State Constituency in Enugu State House of Assembly, Major O.A.U Onuala(RTD), Igwe of Ezineri Mgbidi, Awgu; CP Kanayo Uzoegbu, Commissioner of Police; Major General H.T Dada, General Officer Commanding 82 Division; Brig. Gen. Dogo, Garrison Commander 82 Division; and Ozo Anthony Chinweuba Ani, Retired NYSC Director, representing the State Director, Department of State Services (DSS).
The NYSC scheme is a mandatory one-year national service program for Nigerian graduates. The Batch C Stream II corps members are expected to undergo a three-week orientation program before being deployed to their places of primary assignment.
