Following the outpouring of prayers, tributes and congratulatory messages that accompanied his birthday celebration on February 15, 2026, the Chairman expressed deep appreciation to his family, friends, political associates, Ndi Awgu and numerous well-wishers who identified with him on the occasion.
In a message conveyed through his Special Adviser on General Media and Publicity, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu, Hon. Okolo said that words alone could not adequately express his joy and gratitude for the overwhelming show of love and solidarity. He described the support he received as humbling and inspiring, noting that it has strengthened his resolve to serve the people with greater commitment, integrity and humility.
The Council Chairman also commended the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for providing an enabling environment that has empowered local governments to record visible and meaningful developmental progress at the grassroots. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fully align with the Governor’s inclusive development agenda in order to guarantee sustained growth and transformation across all communities in Awgu Local Government Area.
While thanking Ndi Awgu for the honour and unity demonstrated during the birthday celebration, Hon. Okolo reassured residents of his unwavering dedication to people-centred governance. He pledged to intensify the implementation of impactful projects, policies and initiatives aimed at improving the standard of living of the people and positioning Awgu as a model of grassroots development in Enugu State.
He concluded by praying for God’s continued blessings, peace and prosperity upon the people of Awgu and all those who celebrated and prayed for him, expressing optimism that greater collective achievements and stronger unity lie ahead for the local government area.
