
The (ESIRS) has imposed an immediate ban on the mounting of roadblocks for revenue collection on highways and roads across Enugu State.
In a public notice issued by the Service, all individuals, groups, or agencies operating roadblocks for the purpose of collecting revenue were ordered to dismantle them without delay. The directive takes immediate effect.
According to the agency, the decision aligns with directives from the and is part of broader efforts to create a safer and more business-friendly environment for residents, motorists, and investors in the state.
The ban is expected to impact commuters and commercial operators who have previously encountered revenue collection points along major routes. Authorities say the move is aimed at improving ease of movement and strengthening public confidence in the state’s revenue administration system.
Members of the public have been advised not to make any payments at unauthorized roadblocks and to report such activities wherever they occur.
