NAWOJ Celebrates Mbah at 54, Applauds Infrastructure, Gender Inclusion, Media-Friendly Governance

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Enugu State Chapter, has congratulated the Governor of Enugu State, , on his 54th birthday, commending his administration’s developmental strides and inclusive governance.

In a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by its Chairperson, Comrade Ngozi Ngene, the association described Mbah’s leadership as bold, visionary and transformative, noting that his policies have continued to reposition the state for sustainable development and economic growth.

NAWOJ highlighted key interventions of the administration, particularly in road infrastructure, the rollout of smart schools, and the strengthening of primary healthcare systems, which it said have significantly improved access to essential services and enhanced the welfare of citizens.

The association also praised the governor’s commitment to promoting gender inclusion and equity, stressing that deliberate efforts to create opportunities for women in governance and development reflect a progressive leadership approach.

It further commended the government’s actions in addressing child abuse and gender-based violence, describing the initiatives as critical steps toward safeguarding the rights and dignity of women and children across the state.

According to the statement, investments in education, healthcare, and infrastructure have not only improved living standards but also expanded economic opportunities for women, thereby contributing to poverty reduction.

NAWOJ equally acknowledged the governor’s support for the media, noting that his administration has fostered a conducive environment for journalism to thrive.

The association prayed for continued wisdom, strength and good health for the governor, expressing optimism that his administration would sustain its development agenda and deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of Enugu State.
